π Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Collection: Thoughts

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is an interesting series; there are TV shows, movies, books, radio dramas, comics, games, and more, and they all tell varying versions of the same story. Even stranger, though, is the 1994 trading card set made by Cardz. I've spent the past few months buying boxes, opening packs, purchasing specific cards, and I even tracked down an impossible-to-find flyer and an ad from a comic book in order to "complete" my collection. I have pretty much everything related to this set, including an autographed card by Douglas Adams, the creator of the series (which I pulled in my second of only two boxes. The odds were roughly one in every four cases, and each case had twenty four boxes). Collecting the set has been rewarding, and gave me something to do during the current pandemic; I wish, however, there had been a series two so that I had more to collect, as finishing the set, while fun, is a bit disappointing. And this goes to show just how bored staying at home has made me--I'm buying stuff I don't need and I'm upset that there's nothing left to buy. Regardless, I highly recommend seeking these out (and I in fact have a few extra sets I would be happy to sell, along with everything else I own, as, you know, I spent all my money on cards.)Β
