My girlfriend is a big fan of giraffes. I try to, once a year, around her birthday in March, take her to feed the giraffes at the zoo. She can never get enough of this. I, being the sneaky guy I am, planned on proposing to her at the zoo, by the giraffes; it was going to be a grand memory she would have for the rest of her life. But, unfortunately, the world had other plans and we were stuck inside the whole month . . . I was not going to let that stop me though. So, instead of doing anything I had originally planned, I merely took her for a walk and proposed near our home. It wasn't huge, it wasn't everything I wanted it to be, it wasn't a grand gesture, but it worked, and she loved it. I tell jokes all the time; and usually, they make the people around me either laugh hysterically or sadly sigh. Here's one that's incredibly relevant to me now:
On the 21st of March, I asked who was once my girlfriend if she would be my wife. She said no, but she would be my fiancée.
I told that joke to way too many people, and it never got old to me; I told it to my fiancée just once and she immediately tired of it. But, after I told it to her and she groaned, rolled her eyes, and sighed, it confirmed to me the most important thing, what I already knew: she's definitely the one.
